The hotel has a HUGE advantage; it is in the center of the city, and it makes excellent espresso. Apart from that I found the breakfast rather poor.

We loved the Hotel Roma. Excellent location (1 minute walk from the Piazza Maggiori), superb breakfasts, clean and comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel had bags of character - and felt more 1950s Italian glamour than the typical bland 'international' hotel. Plenty of Italian guests too. Bologna is lovely and so worth a visit, but you could very easily base yourself here and do day trips on the train to Ravenna, Florence, Rimini and many other places. Highly recommended, and will return.

Right in the middle of the action; great location. Room was nice, small. The bed was comfortable and they have a great breakfast spread. It was very quiet in spite of being right in the action. I was able to check in early which I appreciated.
